Kaa Cuff

The Kaa cuff is a very quick-application cuff popularised by §Kaa in]]. It has also independently been introduced by Tatu, and is also known as the Tatu hitch. Originally a §Hojojutsu cuff, it is suitable for takedown and capture, as well as suspension uplines. It's also possible to tie as a double column.

Its main features are:

As shown, it can be finished with any standard forward-tension single column knot (§Boola-Boola, §square knot column tie, §Somerville Bowline etc.). However, this is the least efficient way of finishing it, and there is no reason to tie it this way.

A better approach, also shown by Kaa, is to pull the bight through the double bight and pull through the standing end. This, with a §daisy chain or carabiner, is also how §Topologist likes to add auxiliary §suspension uplines.

An even faster approach is to finish the cuff with a §Yuki knot, which gives the advantages of the §Yuki knot single-column but with extra comfort. Similarly, it is at risk of spilling if pulled in the wrong direction, or if there is pressure on the inside of the cuff (e.g. it carries a heavy load). It can be made secure by preceding the Yuki-knot with a §daisy chain.
