A pull-through refers to any time in a tie the entire remaining length of the rope must be pulled through/under/around another rope or object.
Pull-throughs are one of the least efficient actions you can take while tying, and so some ties and knots can sensibly be measured in "number of pull throughs" to achieve a given outcome.
