linen hemp rope

Linen hemp is a misnomer - really it is linen (flax) rope which bears a striking resemblance to §hemp.

This used to be one of the most popular kinds of rope in the UK, as it was the material sold by §TheBondageMan. Now, you can buy rope from §Bondatrix and §Bruce Esinem.

Linen is generally understood to be weaker than hemp; however, linen hemp has been marketed to me as "stronger than" hemp for suspension. I believe this is because the fibre density in linen rope is much higher, increasing its strength, but I haven't seen anything solid on this. I wouldn't use unrated ropes for suspension anyway.
